Kai

This gorgeous boy is Kai!

Kai was named by staff after as he arrived at our kennels after being found as a stray by a member of our team. Unfortunately, he was not microchipped & no owner has ever come forward.

Due to Kai being a stray we will be looking for a home without children & with him seeming to be Lurcher type (more Whippet size though, weighs in at around 19kg) no cats or small animals to be on the safe side.

When Kai first arrived he had some trauma with regards to his eye. After seeing our vet it was determined that he had a fractured orbital bone. This has since healed really well & is no longer on any medication.

Kai has such a sweet nature, he loves human company & finds kennels life extremely stressful. He will require someone to be home with him most of the time in the beginning but with a little bit of training & patience, you could build up the length of time he is left.

He walks really well on the lead & will require an active home with a secure garden & high fences as he is very athletic.

All that being said he loves nothing more than climbing onto your knee for a snuggle.

Kai was rehomed for a very brief period with a family, whilst in the home, he did show signs of nervousness around the male in the house. When the man in the family went to stroke Kai, Kai screamed & bit the male.

We do not know what has happened in Kai’s previously life but he is definitely more comfortable around women & any introductions with males will need to be done at a slow & steady pace that Kai is comfortable with.

We would really like a quite patient household who can give Kai the time he needs to decompress & eventually show him that most men in the world are ok & he doesn’t need to be afraid of them. We are not sure if this fear is heightened in the home environment as we have male staff & volunteers that Kai loves to spend time with.
