Passed Away: August 2015

In Loving Memory – Maureen Rawlinson
As we marked the end of an era with the closure of the Formby charity shop yesterday, it seems fitting to pay tribute to one of our long-standing supporters who has passed away. Maureen Rawlinson was from Garston in Liverpool. Her daughter Collette told us:

“Mum always loved animals, with dogs and hamsters being her favourite. Mum was a keen supporter of the Freshfields charity shop in Formby and would often dontate food and bedding for the animals at the sanctuary.

I remember my Mum used to talk to a lady called Mel who set up her own Cattery many years ago. Animals always seemed to seek my Mum out, particularly ones who seemed to shy away from other humans. Our church is St Francis of Assisi and Mum always said he was the right saint for her, as just like him she loved animals.

As the crematorium doesn’t allow many flowers we are asking for family flowers only and donations if so wished to be sent to Thomas Porter and Son’s, 142 St Marys Road, Garston, Liverpool, L19 2JJ in Memory of Maureen Rawlinson. The money will be donated to Freshfields Animal Rescue Shelter. Mum’s funeral is at St Francis of Assisi church, Garston, Liverpool on Friday 4th September at 9:30am.”

Freshfields Animal Rescue is proud to have been part of your journey Maureen, and we have travelled further because of you. On behalf of us all here, a heartfelt Thank You.
