Meet Nicky

Please welcome the beautiful Nicky.

Due to Nicky’s declining health and age WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN END OF LIFE FOSTER.   As we have little history she will need to be the only pet in the home and go to a home with no young children.

Nicky came into our care on the 10th September. She has spent the last 6 months in boarding kennels after her owner was taken into hospital. Unfortunately since then her owner passed away. We have very little information about Nicky.

When we initially brought her in, we thought she was 10 years old but according to her microchip details she is almost 14 years old. Considering her age for a large breed dog she’s doing really well. She is very weak on her back legs, so cannot walk for long distances.
She just needs someone to offer her a retirement home, where she can live out the rest of her days in a quiet environment, in a loving home where she can just potter about with some small walks.

Although Akita’s can be a little stubborn & aloof with new people, Nicky hasn’t shown any of these behaviours with us as yet. She is friendly and likes to play!

Nicky does have some health issues that the staff can discuss further with you.If you would like to be considered to offer Nicky a foster home please contact the kennels directly via our email kennels@freshfields.org.uk.

You can find out more about Foster care and download an application form on our website here.
