Dexter came to us after he was found as a stray. It became apparent straight away that Dex was in pain & after seeing out vet, it was determined that Dexter was suffering with his spine. An X-ray was taken, where we discovered that he had a fracture to one of his vertebra & 2 of his ribs! Sadly we do not have any information on Dexter’s life before coming to us so we will never know how he got these injuries. Thankfully after 6 months of medication, he is now fully healed & ready to find his forever home! He is the sweetest little bun, who loves cuddles with all the staff. He will make the perfect addition to any home & will make the best ‘husbun’.
If you think that Dexter could be the perfect rabbit for your family, please get in touch at wildlife@freshfields.org.uk with photos of your rabbit set up.
We ask that all hutches are permanently attached to a run, measuring at least 5ft by 7ft, the larger the better as Dexter is a bigger breed. The bottom, if on grass, must be meshed, but if on concrete, will not. If you are considering Dexter as a house rabbit, all wiring will need to be safely hidden away from nibbling teeth and an exercise area must be accessible at all times.
