Meet Dave,

This rugged chap was brought in to us from an industrial estate in Knowsley. He’d started to loaf around in the middle of the truck yard while large and dangerous machines dodged around him, as he had started to become a danger to himself they felt it best to bring him in to rescue.

On his admittance he was aptly nicknamed ‘Dirty Dave’ by staff as his white bits had certainly seen better days.

It was quickly discovered that Dave is nearly entirely deaf! which explained why he wasn’t bothered about all of the loud trucks passing by him on a daily basis.

After a thorough health check from our vets it was found that poor Dave was hiding a whole host of issues under all that muck and grime.

His mouth was in an awful state with infections and rotten and broken teeth and was obviously the reason why he was so dirty as it must have been painful for him to groom himself. He was also suffering massively with vomiting and diarrhoea and had dropped a lot of weight.

A few blood tests later and it came to light that not only was Dave suffering from hyperthyroidism but he was also FIV Positive.

This handsome dude is already looking so much better than when he first arrived to us. It’s going to be a long journey to get him back to optimum health but we’re certain he’s heading in the right direction.

Dave is not yet ready for adoption so we won’t be accepting applications for him at this time.
