A TRIBUTE TO IVY JONES

Everyone at Freshfields would like to pay tribute to Ivy Jones, who sadly passed away recently.

Ivy was a lifelong supporter of the animals at Freshfields, and her family adopted several animals from us over the years, including horses from Freshfields Wales. Ivy’s dedication to animal welfare lasted a lifetime, and her legacy lives on in her family, the many people she inspired and the animals she cared for. Ivy was an animal rights campaigner, and a passionate advocate of the rights of those who do not have a voice. Ivy provided all the animals that she rescued with a life of love, and did everything she could to enrich the lives of dogs like Sasha (pictured).

Ivy is remembered fondly as a part of the local community in Formby, often seen walking her many rescued dogs. At every opportunity she had, she would encourage people to consider offering a home to an animal in need, at rescue centres like Freshfields. Ivy truly was an animal advocate.

Supporters like Ivy are at the heart of everything we do at Freshfields.  The contribution of a generous, kind-hearted person makes all the difference to the lives of the abandoned, abused and neglected animals who need us every single day.

Thank you Ivy, for everything that you did for the animals. Love from all of us at Freshfields.

Ivy’s children Andrew, Nicola and Christopher have asked for donations to Freshfields in lieu of flowers. Ivy’s funeral is on Wednesday 11th April, and her son Chris has set up a fundraiser page on Facebook at the link below.
