Awelmor is situated in a private garden on the Lleyn Peninsula in Pontllyfni, North Wales, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It enjoys a mild, beach climate with hot summers and winter snow on the mountains. It is 7 miles south of Caernarfon and overlooks a quiet, sandy, safe beach that is ideal for young children, water sports, swimming and sunbathing. You can enjoy exciting cliff walks, cycle routes (bike hire), pony trekking, rock-climbing, and mountain walking, (qualified guides).
Plas Menai, the National Water Sports Centre is only 4 miles away. Here you can learn sailing, canoeing, wind surfing, etc.
There are Castles, Slate Mines, National Trust properties (cream teas and gardens), forests, lakes, long sandy beaches and islands to explore. Snowdonia is as beautiful in Winter, with well marked Mountain paths and Forest walks. Don’t forget the narrow gauge railways, Golf courses overlooking the sea, Local Markets, Welsh Choirs, the Theatres, Traditional Pubs & Restaurants. And there’s lots more!
