Wilma was one of three pigs on a farm that was closing down. Mercifully she was offered a temporary rescue space in adjacent stables but was brought to Freshfields as a more permanent solution after we were lucky enough to re-home our three Kune Kune boys Brian, Harold and Arthur.

Wilma is the biggest resident on site (non-human and human!) which makes her an intimidating sight but despite her enormous size she’s a friendly girl without a bad bone in her weighty body. Apart from when waiting for breakfast to be served she appears to have a constant smile on her face – which makes her look incredibly sweet when eating, snoozing or gaily trotting around the farm, and even when covered in mud (which she frequently is).

Wilma’s a big eater and a big character who was so very fortunate to find her way here to safety. Please consider sponsoring her in our Sponsored Animal Section to ensure she continues to get all the care she deserves. For other ways to help please check out the 'Get Involved' section of the website or consider donating feed via a local farm feed shop or our amazon wishlist. Donations of fruits and vegetables are also very welcome.
