BACKGROUND AND PERSONALITY
Thor is looking for a new home due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. Thor has lived in the same home since he was a puppy.
Thor is typical of the breed in that he can be unsure of new people initially and does take some time to build a bond, however he is very affectionate with his family.
BEHAVIOUR AND MEDICAL ISSUES
Thor can be stubborn and does not always listen to commands such as recall. For this reason he should only be exercised off lead when in a secure, enclosed area.
He has suffered with ongoing issues with his ears and does require ear drops, this can be common in the breed due to the ear canal being very narrow. Due to this Thor can be sensitive when having his ears touched.
Thor has lived with another dog in the past but does prefer his space and can sometimes be skittish when greeted by other dogs on walks. His owner feels that he may be able to live with a calm, older female in his new home.
He has never lived with cats.
TYPE OF HOME NEEDED
Thor currently lives with two children aged 8 and 10 years old, however we do feel that he would be best suited to living with children aged 16+.
Thor has not presented with any separation anxiety or destructive issues so we feel that he could be left alone for a couple of hours.
We are ideally looking for a home for Thor with breed experience.
Please note that Thor is currently on our rehome from home scheme and is therefore still with his family whilst awaiting a new home.
