Roland

Roland shares the same origins as his pal, Ballerina. Both were rescued from a farm where they were no longer wanted. Presumably they were the runts of their litter and required more individual attention than was deemed economical. Currently in their second stay at Freshfields, they’re both fully grown, healthy, happy sheep and we savour every day with them.

If Ballerina’s a bit of a Princess then Roland is most definitely Prince Charming. He’s a really handsome (almost goat-like), mild mannered chap who’s a real pleasure to have around. Generally he likes to hang back in amongst the fold only coming to the fore during group raids on staff carrying sacks of feed but every now and then you catch him in the right mood for a good soothing scratch of his chin.

Rehoming sheep can be a difficult thing to do as they have such strong social needs that need to be respected (and we’d miss them terribly) but certainly we would never consider splitting up Roland and Ballerina.

Roland is available to sponsor. For other ways to help please see the ‘Get Involved’ section of the website or consider donating feed via a farm feed shop or our amazon wishlist. Donations of fruit and vegetables are also very welcome.
