Rebel aka ‘Silver Grace Golden Vision’ and Darcy aka ‘ Silver Grace Mr Darcy’ were admitted at the beginning of May, after their owners were reducing their herd size. Rebel is the palamino and is certainly the boss of the pair , Darcy is the bay and is happy to let Rebel take the lead. They have had their teeth, feet, vet checks and worm counts done ( Rebel was treated) in the time they have been with us. The pair are very much used to humans, they will come over for a nosey to see if you have anything for them, they LOVE being groomed all over ( especially Darcy), and in this hot spell of weather are really enjoying being hosed down with water. Both stood well for the farrier but both really didn’t enjoy having their teeth done, once the gag was on they both stood fine, this will improve with regular dentist visits. Rebel and Darcy are loveable lads but Rebel needs a firm hand at times. They have integrated well into the herd of mares and geldings. They are looking for a home together, where they will be loved and cared for, with or without other horses. As with most horses and ponies, their grass intake needs to be monitored as they have suffered from laminitis in the past. Rebel and Darcy may be mini horses but they have big personalities and would love a home where they will be the centre of attention.
