About Pumpkin

Little Pumpkin came into our care back in March when he was found wandering alone in a field close to our rescue. Luckily, a member of the public managed to catch him and brought him to us. He was not in a very good state – he was underweight and full of cuts and bruises. We’re not sure where he had been, or how he ended up in the state he was in, but he was safe with us.

Straight away we arranged foster care for Pumpkin so he could recover in a home environment. He has been thriving with his foster carers and his injuries have healed well. He has started to learn the ways of the world, his confidence is growing every day and he’s now enjoying getting out and about on his daily walks.

He’s an affectionate little lad who loves to cuddle up to someone on the sofa. He can be a little timid and nervous of new people and environments, as the world is such a big place to him. We don’t believe he had seen much of the world before coming to us, so he will need some help in his new home so he can overcome his anxiety and gain more confidence.

What kind of home would suit Pumpkin?

Due to Pumpkin’s nervous nature, he will need an adult only home, with no other animals. He does appear to be quite scared of dogs and will try his best to keep them away when he’s out on walks. We will be able to provide guidance on how to overcome this, but it is likely to take some time as Pumpkin adjusts to his new home.

We are looking for someone who is patient and understanding of Pumpkin’s background, and who is committed to helping him overcome his anxiety. Once he is settled with his new family, he will be a fabulous, loyal little dog.
