We were sad to welcome Ozzie back with us after rehoming him back in 2012 but he has now become a firm favourite here at the rescue and is also a Sponsor Dog.
Although Ozzie happily spent 4 years in his previous home he could become quite anxious as he lived on a busy road, with many pedestrians passing by. One day, this build up of anxiety led to Ozzie becoming stressed and he stole a chocolate wrapper. Unfortunately as his owner tried to take this off him Ozzie bit his hand and was returned to us as a result. His owners were very upset to part with him, but believed that he needed to go to a quieter road, without a constant stream of people passing by as he will be calmer and happier.
This is certainly true for Ozzie as he did not cope well in the kennel environment and now resides in one of our quiet rooms where he has his own sofa, radio and soft rug. Ozzie is now much more settled here at the rescue and is extremely clean and non destructive.
There have been a couple of occasions here at the rescue where Ozzie has snapped when he has found himself in a stressful situation. Although he is mostly a really well behaved and affectionate boy, who loves to give kisses. He is very loyal to those he knows and trusts and will greet his dog walkers with a heart wrenching scream!
Ozzie is very focused on his toys, he loves to play and although we like to see him enjoying himself, we would advise a new home not to encourage ball throwing as it would be nice to see him a little less toy obsessed! We are often finding a secret selection of tennis balls stuffed down the side of his sofa!
Ozzie loves attention and he loves walks so an active owner is a must for this boy! He needs a quiet, calm home with no children or children planned for the future. He can be left for a few hours during the day and is generally spotlessly clean here at the rescue. Ozzie can be reactive towards some dogs and will need to be the only pet in the home. He is an adorable boy who will make a wonderful friend for an experienced owner.
