We are sad to welcome Ozzie back with us after rehoming him back in 2012.
Ozzie has collie in his genes and as every collie lover knows, they can display anxious or sometimes even neurotic behaviour. Poor Ozzie was quite anxious in his home as he lived on a busy road, with many pedestrians passing by. One day, this build up of anxiety led to Ozzie becoming stressed, he stole a chocolate wrapper and in the owner's panic to take it off him, Ozzie bit his hand. His owners were very upset to part with him, but believe that he needs to go to a quieter road, without a constant stream of people passing by and traffic as he will be calmer and happier.
There have been a couple of occasions here at the rescue where Ozzie has snapped when he has found himself in a stressful situation. However Ozzie is mostly a really well behaved and sweet natured boy. Ozzie (like many collies!) is very focused on his toys. He loves to play. Although we like to see him enjoying himself, we would advise a new home not to encourage ball throwing as it would be nice to see Ozzie a little less toy obsessed! He is very affectionate.
He loves attention and he loves walks so an active owner is a must for this boy! He needs a quiet, calm home with no children or children planned for the future. He can be left for a few hours during the day and is generally spotlessly clean here at the rescue. Ozzie is good with some dogs but will bark at others, particularly terrier types! He is best as the only pet. He is an adorable boy who will make a wonderful friend for an experienced owner.
