Missy

Pretty Missy is looking for a new home as she is not getting along with one of the dogs in her current home. Missy lives with two dogs and is fine with the female but is bullying the male dog who is elderly and her owner feels it is unfair on him.

Missy originally belonged to a friend but following a relationship breakdown she was being locked in a kitchen for up to 12 hours whilst her owner was at work.

Missy is a typical grumpy Shih Tzu and will not hesitate to tell you when she is upset about something! She is very vocal and will growl, especially when she is being picked up or moved from the sofa. Missy has never snapped or bitten but would benefit from a confident owner experienced with the breed. She does not like being groomed and becomes very stressed at the groomers so for this reason she will need a groomer to come to the home or may need assistance via the vet with this. She will however let her owner brush her and trim her face etc so we feel that this is a trust issue.
She is fine with visiting children in her current home but as she has never lived with any and due to her grumpy nature we are looking for an adult only home for her.

On walks Missy socialises well with most dogs, however she may bark at some. Due to the situation in her current home with the male dog we feel that Missy would be best suited to a home where she can be the only pet. She does not like cats.

Missy is clean and non destructive and travels well in the car. She can be left alone for a couple of hours but is not used to being left any longer than this so ideally needs a home with someone around for most of the day.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MISSY IS CURRENTLY ON OUR WAITING LIST AND IS STILL IN THE CARE OF HER OWNER WHILE AWAITING A NEW HOME. PLEASE CALL US ON 0151 931 1604 TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET HER.
