Lola

Pretty Lola is sadly looking for a new home as she has started to display some issues in the home with regards to resource guarding.
Lola has lived in the same home since she was a puppy but unfortunately there have been two incidents where she has bitten over food items and her family feel that the circumstances in their household prevent them from working with Lola to help her overcome these issues.
They feel that if Lola is placed in a quieter home with maybe just one or two people who can both be on board with a behavioural plan that her behaviour may improve.

Lola is generally a very friendly and happy little dog. She likes to sit on your lap and be stroked but does tend to prefer her own space in the evenings.
She can be vocal when there is a knock at the front door but usually accepts visitors into the home.
She is clean, non-destructive and is also used to using a crate.
Lola is also well behaved at the vets and groomers, although she may be a little worried and tremble at first.

Lola really enjoys her walks and will need an active owner. She can be reactive towards other dogs when on lead but off lead she happily plays with them.
Lola has always been an only dog and due to the guarding she has displayed around food we do feel that she would be best suited to being the only dog in the home, however we may consider placing her with another dog if we feel that the owner is experienced enough to handle any issues that may arise. She cannot live with cats.

We are looking for a home where Lola will not be left alone for more than 2-3 hours due to her young age.

Lola has never lived with young children and due to her history of biting we are looking for a strict adult only home, free from visiting children and without any children planned for the future.

We are looking for an experienced home for Lola, ideally with someone who is familiar with resource guarding. Our behaviourist will be on board to help with any issues but her new owner must be prepared to put in the hard work needed.
Lola's new family must be prepared to make several trips to and from the rescue in order to form a bond with her before adoption so please do bare your location in mind should you wish to inquire about her.

PLEASE NOTE THAT LOLA IS CURRENTLY ON OUR WAITING LIST AND IS STILL IN THE CARE OF HER OWNER WHILE AWAITING A NEW HOME. PLEASE CALL US ON 0151 931 1604 TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET HER.
