Lola is looking for a new home due to her owner's long work hours. She does have some behavioural issues so please read her profile fully before enquiring about her.
Lola originally went on our waiting list along with her son Harley, and after a lot of thought we decided to rehome them separately as in this case we believe it will be beneficial in the long run and is with with both dog's best interests at heart. Harley has now found a new home and we are hopeful that Lola will find hers too.
Lola's main issues are surrounding the home, she is very territorial and can react aggressively towards visiting strangers and has bitten in the past.
Outside of the home Lola is more accepting of new people and socialises well with other dogs in the park etc, however she can be reactive towards dogs in the street surrounding her home. We are unsure how Lola will cope living with a new dog and therefore we are looking for a home where she can be the only dog, she has however always lived with a cat and her owner feels that she could live with a cat in her new home.
Lola has always been a bit of a grumpy dog, although affectionate and happy to be carried she can become upset when she is being interfered with. She does not like the vet or being groomed, although her owner currently manages to groom her at home.
Lola can be reluctant to go on walks so will need some guidance with this.
Lola will need a patient owner who will take on board all the advice given to them from staff at the rescue. Although Lola is an adorable looking girl her issues surrounding strangers to the home are not to be taken lightly and it is important this her new owner is prepared for any problems that may arise.
Lola will need a quiet, adult only home without any visiting children or children planned for the future. She would be best suited to a home with someone retired and therefore around for most of the day to help her settle and feel secure. Lola's new owner must be prepared to make several trips to and from the rescue to build a bond with her before adoption.
PLEASE NOTE THAT LOLA IS CURRENTLY ON OUR WAITING LIST AND IS STILL IN THE CARE OF HER OWNER WHILE AWAITING A NEW HOME. PLEASE CALL US ON 0151 931 1604 TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET HER.
