About Aura
Meet the beautiful Aura! She is a 2 year old bully cross who came to us when one of the children in her family became unwell and the family felt that they were unable to provide Aura with the care she needed.
Aura is a very bright girl with lots of potential. During her time with us so far, she has come on leaps and bounds. Initially, Aura was quite subdued and bewildered to find herself in the kennel environment; it took her a few days to begin to trust the kennel staff. Recently, we have seen Aura find her feet, and start to show more of her character.
Aura is a friendly girl, although she can be timid and become uncomfortable if someone she isn’t familiar with strokes her. She will demonstrate this by moving away and taking herself off to do something else. She’s a sensitive girl and though she has formed good relationships with the kennel staff here at the rescue, she needs a gentle approach when getting to know her.
Aura is friendly with other dogs when she is out and about, and gets very excited to meet them, with a big waggy tail!
What kind of home would suit Aura?
For Aura, we are looking for a home with people who have experience of bully breeds so they can understand her behaviour and work with her on her confidence around being touched.
We feel she will need lots of patience and time to adjust to a new home, therefore we are looking for people who have some flexibility within their work so they can settle her in before leaving her at home alone.
We would not be able to accept applications with children under 16 years of age at this time. Although Aura is sociable with other dogs, we feel she would be better suited to pet free home, so that she can be the sole focus of her new family.
